Well, just got back from a week in Cornwall with many many pictures taken, including a couple of family shots...but not many!

Whilst out doing some urban exploration I came across this maniac....run....run for you lives....don't stop and don't turn back, he will be in my nightmares for some time to come...

Dday, the 69th anniversary

So here we are at the 69th anniversary of Dday, the largest most complex invasion in history to liberate Europe from the tyranny of Nazi rule.  I have visited the beaches a few times and thought that today would be the day to put up a few of my pics in testament to the brave men who fought for us..

This last pic is of the grave of lieutenant H. D. Brotheridge, the first allied soldier to die on Dday, during the liberation of Pegasus Bridge.  The inscription reads 'out of the bitterness of war, he found the perfect peace'

We will remember their sacrifice.

They gave their today for our tomorrow

Ramsbottom 1940's vintage weekend

So, bank holiday weekend is here, and so is the Ramsbottom 1940's vintage weekend with the vehicles, people dressed up and steam trains, great fun!
